EXECUTIVE SUMMARY CRITERIA If you would like the Lyles Center to review an executive summary, please include the information outlined below:
- Contact Information:

- Management: Please provide names for all members of your management team.
- Board of Directors: Please provide names for all members of your Board of Directors.
- Industry: Please provide a brief description of your company's industry.
- Number of Employees
- Amount of Financing Sought: (e.g. $1 million)
- Pre-Money Valuation: (e.g. $3 million) Use of Funds Table
- Current Investors: (please include names of investors and investment firms, $ amount invested and investment instrument such as common stock; also include major note holders)
- Business Description: Briefly describe the general nature of your company. From this section we must gain a clear understanding of the market in which the company will operate and be convinced that your business is unique. Please state the amount of funding you are seeking.
- Summary of Business Strategy: Provide a short summary of your company’s strategy for bringing your product/service to market. Indicate specific steps that will be taken. Please provide information about your revenue model in this section.
- Products/Services: Convey how the company and product fill an unmet need in the market place. Identify your competitive advantage—the characteristics that set the product and company apart from the competition.
- Technologies/Special Processes: Highlight the aspects of your product that may be protected by current Intellectual Property (IP) or patent law. Provide evidence of how your offerings are different and will be able to develop a barrier to entry for potential competitors.
- Target Markets: Provide a clear description of your target market, and any market segments that may exist within that market. Include potential market size and growth rate.
- Distribution Channels: Indicate which channels will be used to deliver your products/service to your target markets (i.e. website, direct sales force, VARs, channel partners, etc.).
- Competition: List any current or potential direct and indirect competition. Briefly describe the competitive outlook and dynamics of the relevant market in which you will operate.
- Management: Highlight the experience and capabilities of senior management.
- Milestones and Outlook: Describe the major events that will take place in the short and long-term future (i.e. product launch, acquisition of first customer, milestones for customer base growth or sales growth, analyst predictions for your industry or market segment, or anything that could be of interest to a potential investor).
- Financial Summary: Provide historical financials for one to two years, and forecasts for three to five years. Include the following:
