Student Hatchery

The Lyles Center Student Hatchery offers students support and office space to work on their business while attending school. Students receive mentoring, access to resources, a complete office, and access to facilities at the Lyles Center such as a board room and classrooms.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The “Hatchery” is much like an incubator but is designed to support students while attending classes and building their business. Eight office spaces are clustered around the Student Resource Center inside the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Each office will be assigned to a student or a team of students working on a business plan or a business in its early stages of development. Mentors and coaches will be brought into the Hatchery to provide important services and advice pertaining to technology, legal, accounting, intellectual property, and management of the business. Students will be eligible for Hatchery space based on an assessment of their business plan or if tied to a Scholarship.

BACKGROUND
The Student Hatchery is a new facility and will be a unique and important feature of the Entrepreneurship program. Opportunities to have office space and receive critical support will motivate students to push their business ideas forward. The Hatchery will provide an opportunity for students to apply their entrepreneurial skills in an environment that is encouraging and supportive. Naming rights will provide visibility and support for the student ventures.
